PURPOSE:To automatically find out the form of the front end of bars and true them up, by providing prescribed means for respectively sending out, holding, discriminating, discharging and storing the bars. CONSTITUTION:A storage section 11 for storing a plurality of bars 10 different in form between both their ends, a send-out means including a push rod 18 for selectively sending out one of the stored bars, a holding means including a bar holder 23 for holding the sent-out bar, a discrimintion means made of a light sensor 25 for discriminating the form of one end of the held bar, a discharge means including a step motor 27 for sorting and discharging the bar depending on the result of the discrimination of the form, and a means made of a storage section (not shown in the drawing) for truing up and storing the dischaged bars depending on their end form are provided. The output signal of a received light image (not shown in the drawing) is monitored to judge whether the front end of the bar 10 has a prescribed form. After than, the bar is discharged from a guide 19 to one of two hoppers (not shown in the drawing). |
