The pump has an impeller (5) on a shaft (6) driven by a toothed belt (16) through a pulley (15). A seal (12,13) prevents leakage along the shaft. The inlet branch (3) connects with the volute chamber (2) which is concentric with the impeller. The discharge branch (4) opens into a large bore (19) in the casing. This bore is parallel but offset to the pump centre line. A plug (18) is fitted into the bore with a sealing ring (29) and clamped using a lug (21). The plug has a helical groove extending around half its circumference to connect the discharge chamber (2) to the outlet branch (4).
