Apparatus for pelletising strands of polymer material, in which the plastic or molten strands, produced by said apparatus, can be fed to a driven pair of rolls once they have solidified on the outside and are divided by this pair of rolls into individual pellets. Vis-à-vis the polymer material, the rolls consist of hard metal, for example steel. The first roll acts as a squeeze roll and is provided with axial projections, the ends of which lie in the surface area of a cylinder coaxial to the squeeze roll. The second roll has as counter-roll a cylindrical circumferential surface. One of the two rolls is mounted movably with respect to the other roll, so that the cylindrical regions of the projections come to lie approximately against the counter-roll. The movement of the roll concerned in the direction of the other roll is limited in the latter position by a stop, against which the roll concerned is pressed under pretension. The squeeze roll squeezes individual pellets off from the strands by its projections of cylindrical surface shape at the end.
