PURPOSE:To apply uniform pressure even transfer paper is narrow, by fixing the pressing mechanism of rollers of a pressure type fixing deivce on a conveyance reference side and pressing it by a spring on the other side. CONSTITUTION:The fixing roller 19 and pressure roller 20 of a pressure type fixing device are supported by a couple of upper and lower supporting bodies 15 and 16, which are supported on a center shaft 22 pivotally so that they are opened and closed vertically. At a conveyance reference side L for transfer paper, a bolt 24 is equipped while inserted into the supporting bodies 15 and 16 and a coupling plate 23, and adjusted through a nut 25 so that the rollers 19 and 20 has a specified gap. On the other side, pressure is applied through a spring 14. Consequently, when transfer paper is narrow, a conventional system which applies pressure uniformly causes rolls to slant where the paper is not present, but this system suppresses its floating to the sepecified gap and employs the spring for the pressure application, so that uniform pressure application is carried out even when narrow transfer paper is used. |
