Plate heat exchanger

A plate heat exchanger has a stack of partitions, which are arranged at a distance from one another and form between themselves flow channels for the fluids participating in the heat exchange. If a fluid under high pressure is to be guided through such a plate heat exchanger, it is necessary for the partitions to have an appropriately thick-walled and stable design. However, the result of this is that the transmission of heat through the partitions is very poor. Consequently, according to the invention at least one of the flow channels is constructed to be more resistant to pressure than the remaining flow channels, and serves to conduct the highly pressurised fluid.
