PURPOSE:To enable to treat ash efficiently and to make a combustion furnace compact by reducing its height, by making the bottom of the combustion furnace with a refractory material with a gentle slope, and providing fluid ejecting means for ejecting a ash discharging fluid along the bottom surface of the furnace. CONSTITUTION:Ash 23 accumulated on the bottom surface of a combustion furnace is discharged to the outside by one or a plurality of fluid ejecting means 24-26 which eject water, steam or air 22 intermittently in a jet flow. Here, the bottom of the combustion furnace is made of a refractory material 21 and is imparted with a gentle slope. By employing such an arrangment, it is enabled to discharge ash efficiently, to reduce the height of the combustion furnace, to make the furnace in a compact structure, and hence to obtain a combustion furnace which can be supported securely at its bottom and reduce the space required at the bottom section. |
