PURPOSE:To reduce frictional resistance of a piston and improve engine efficiency, by building a rolling contact means between the piston and a cylinder which slidably guides the piston. CONSTITUTION:In an engine, in which a piston 2 is housed in a cylinder 1 in a slidably reciprocating state, a rolling contact means 4 is built between the cylinder 1 and the piston 2. This rolling contact means 4 is formed by a roller bearing, ball bearing or needle bearing, in case of the roller bearing, said means is built in the piston 2 through shafts 5. Here the rolling contact means 4 is built diametrically at a face-to-face position in both sides of the piston 2 so that side pressure of the piston can be supported. |
