PURPOSE:To expand an effective visual field by adding partial photoelectron multiplier tubes to the outermost array of photoelectron multiplier tubes. CONSTITUTION:A radiation 1 from a subject is projected on a discoid scintillator 3 through a collimator 2 to obtain light emission by the mutual action between the scintillator 3 and radiation 1. Light emitted by this scintillator 3 is converted into an electric signal through photoelectron multiplier tubes 5 coupled optically with a discoid light guide 4 interposed, and a matrix circuit 6 generates a coordinate signal 7. In said scintillation camera, plural photoelectron multiplier tubes are added partially to six sides of a hexagonal array of photoelectron multiplier tubes 5 without varying the diameter of the scintillator 3. Consequently, the effective visual field is expanded without changing basic constitutent elements of this camera. |
