A bellows compensator, in which the bellows (2) are protected against the effect of a hot fluid circulating inside them by a heat-insulating inner tube (7) and additional insulation (8), while maintaining the capability to absorb axial displacement movements and, in further embodiments, also to compensate for angular movements. An intermediate tube (3), which can be displaced axially, supports both the inner tube (7) as well as sliding collars (11) which engage in mating pieces (9) mounted on the end flanges, so that an overlap is produced. The parts (9 and 11) are arranged with respect to one another such that the entire expansion and compression movement of the compensator (d) can be absorbed. The intermediate tube (3) is supported on the flanges (1) via springs (4), for uniform distribution of the intermediate spaces, which absorb the displacement movement, on both ends of the compensator. <IMAGE>
