Animal trap (1) (Fig. 1) comprising a system of interconnected modular units (2, 3, 8, 20 and 27) including a gate (13) (Figs. 2-6) which is treadle-operated by an entering animal (30) by operating the tripping mechanism (16) to snap to latched-closed position from an open position adjacent the floor of the trap. The trap (1) includes a disabling device (12) (Fig. 5) to permit pre-baiting. As a special feature for preventing contamination, it includes a hermetically-sealed capture module (20) (Fig. 8) with a plastic bag liner (22), which may be disengaged from the system for disposal purposes. A device including a timer circuit (18) (Fig. 6) is also disclosed for automatically resetting the trap on a periodic basis. |
