After a solvent having the property of partly dissolving or swelling transfer sheet (A) provided with a printed pattern (3) on a peelable sheet (1) is coated onto at least one of the sheet (A) and a material (12) to which the pattern is to be transferred, the sheet (A) and the material (12) are superimposed with the coated surfaces disposed inside. The resultant laminate is compressed, the peelable sheet is then peeled off, so that the pattern is transferred to the material. Since this method is carried out substantially without heating, it is suitable for transfer printing of materials having a low heat resistance. |
