The invention relates to a profiled tube for heat exchangers, in particular for space heaters, having a guide tube for a heat exchange fluid and having thermally conductive finning of the guide tube in the form of webs which form a front plate, extending along the one side of the guide tube, as well as a web arrangement which is open towards the opposite side of the guide tube and which has a central web, extending outwards from the guide tube and running at a right angle relative to the front plate, and side webs which extend outwards from the open side of the web arrangement, in the direction towards the front plate, on both sides of the central web and parallel thereto, the guide tube being arranged nearer the front plate than the open side of the web arrangement. In order to optimise the relationship of the efficiency of the heat exchanger to the outlay on construction, it is provided according to the invention that the extent of the side webs (10, 12) parallel to the central web (8) reaches at least into the zone containing the guide tube (2) and parallel to the front plate (4). <IMAGE>
