PURPOSE:To secure the safety of a plant etc. by mechanically locking the controlled elements so as no to be moved in emergency, in an actuator. CONSTITUTION:When the fluid pressure is reduced sharply in emergency, the driving nut 15 of an emergency locking mechanism 8 is shifted by the pushing force of a spring 18, and engaged with a screw shaft 14, so the piston 10 of a driving mechanism 7 which is connected to the screw shaft 14 is brought into locked state. Therefore, the state immediately after the sharp reduction of the fluid pressure is maintained, so also the controlled elements are maintained in the state immediately after the sharp reduction of the fluid pressure for driving an actuator, and the facility in which the controlled elements are installed can be maintained in the state immediately after the generation of emergency. |
