In a device (10) for cutting of connecting wire ends from a circuit board (12) which is fitted with electrical components (18), it is proposed to pass the upper strand (46) of a closed band saw (44) through between two perforated plates (34 and 40) which are arranged underneath the circuit board (12) and whose hole pattern corresponds to that of the circuit board (12). A support (54) which holds the rollers (50, 52) for the band saw (44) can be displaced over the entire length of the circuit board (12) in a direction (Y) at right angles to the band saw transportation direction (X). In this way, all the downwardly projecting connecting wire ends of the components (18) can be sawn off one after the other, a smooth, disturbance-free sequence being ensured. In particular there is no risk of tension being exerted on the connecting wires while they are being cut off, which could lead to damage to the components (18). <IMAGE>
