The invention relates to an arrangement intended for placing and/or removing a load and used on a displaceable transport device such as a fork-lift truck, which has at least one projecting carrier element 2 designed to be inserted under the load so as to support the latter as it is moved by the transport device. The carrier element 2 has carrier members 6 for supporting a conveyor 7, which is intended for two-directional transport of the load in the carrier element's insertion direction - the removal direction - and in the opposite direction - the placement direction, in such a way that, over at least part of the length of the carrier element 2 in said insertion direction, it extends above the upper surface of the carrier element so that, when the carrier element is inserted under the load, it makes contact with the load and places this on the carrier element in order to at least partially support the load when this is placed on the carrier element, and, for example after completed movement of the transport member, to remove the load from the carrier element.
