Method for the protection or scour protection of natural soils, artificial fillings and systems as well as underwater structures on the basis of Colcrete mats or filled fabric mats

This patent application describes a method which enables rolled-out fabric mats, lying on a solid base or just above or below the water surface, to be filled in a controlled manner with Colcrete or thixotropic or colloidal materials and enables this system to be installed without diver assistance at any location under water. This is made possible by the interlacing at the works of stronger textile threads in the longitudinal and transverse direction of the mat in certain areas, which serve as primary suspension. Acting on these primary suspensions is the secondary suspension, which forms the connection between the mat and the release mechanism of a lowering frame. In large construction projects, the lowering frame can be a component of a floating working platform in which all mechanical units for the spreading, filling and lowering operation of the fabric mats are integrated. The method enables underwater structures such as pipelines, foundation bodies of offshore platforms, etc. to be protected from mechanical stresses and scouring irrespective of the depth of water and also largely from the flow conditions.
