This invention is directed to a dust cyclone which comprises an elongated cylindrical body having an outlet conduit at the upper end thereof, which conduit extends into the cylindrical body and an inlet arranged to deliver gas substantially tagentially to the interior of the cylindrical body and located above the lowermost tip of the outlet conduit. The cyclone is characterised by an upwardly slanting conduit extending from the bottom of the cylindrical body and through the side wall thereof and a conveyor located in the slanting conduit, the arrangement being such that the lower part of the cylindrical body may be provided with a volume of liquid, such as water, to create a seal suitable for preventing gas from escaping through the slanting conduit whilst permitting collected dust to be removed therethrough by means of the conveyor. |
