PURPOSE:To make a timepiece small and thin and to set automatically and selectively a detection resistance value best fitted for a step motor, by confirming the appropriateness of the resistance value after the resistance value of detection resistances is set logically. CONSTITUTION:A step motor constituted by a stator, a rotor and a coil 32 is provided, and the rotation and non-rotation of the rotor is determined by converting a value of a detection current made to flow through the coil 32 into the fall of a voltage of detection resistances. On the occasion, a function of confirming the appropriateness of a resistance value is formed after the resistance value of the detection resistors 49-56 is set logically. The appropriateness of the resistance value is confirmed by a fact that the detection voltage of a detection pulse delivered after the rotor is rotated is lower than a reference potential. |
