The sunflower seed harvester has a circular, rotary blade (11) which cuts horizontally into the head of the sunflower at a level between the seeds and the base (3) of the flower. The blade disperses the seeds under its centrifugal force. The blade is positioned between a pair of endless chains (9,10) which pass over driven rollers and carry severed sunflower heads, seeds upwards, towards the blade. The chains are contra-rotating to grip the flowers between the inner runs. |
