PURPOSE:To predry a plating inhibitor of water glass consisting of MgO, etc. as base materials without bumping and lack of coating by coating and drying said inhibitor within the range of conditions for specific drying atmosphere temp. and drying time. CONSTITUTION:A slurrylike plating inhibitor 3 of about 45-65% moisture content of the water glass contg. MgO, alkali silicate, boric acid, MOH (M is an alkali metal) as base materials and added with metallic oxides such as TiO2, Al2O3 is coated on a steel plate 1 with a roll coater 2 and is then baked and dried in a drying furnace 4 having an atmosphere such as combustion gas. This coated steel plate is coiled via a roll 5 and the coil is charged into a continuous zinc hot dipping line for one side. Or it is also possible to incorporate the coating and drying of the plating inhibitor in one stage of the plating line. The coating and drying of the plating inhibitor are accomplished within the range satisfying the conditions 190.X<-0.977>>=Y>65.YX<-0.553>, Y; the temp. of the drying atmosphere ( deg.C), X: drying time (min). |
