PURPOSE:To obtain a remote monitoring device not requiring special terminals for monitor at low cost, by converting monitoring information supplied from a system monitoring device into sound and transmitting the information on a public telephone line. CONSTITUTION:System monitoring information collected from a system 1 to be monitored 1 to a system monitoring device 2 is transmitted to a remote monitoring base station 3, where the system monitoring information is interpreted and analyzed, the result is converted into sound and transmitted to a public line network in response to a call from a remote monitoring terminal station (telephone set) 4.
