<p>Novel quinolone compounds having therapeutic activity as hypertensive agents correspond to the general formula: wherein n is 0, 1 or 2; R1 is lower alkyl; and R3 is hydrogen, lower alkyl, methoxy, methylthio, halo or trifluoromethyl. They may be prepared for example, by reacting a compound of the above structure but having a group -CH2X, in which X is a leaving group, at the 3- position, with methylthiolate or methanesulphinate anion.</p> |
