PURPOSE:To absorb variance in characteristics of a step motor by selectively setting values of plural provided detecting resistances according to resistance set section, and thus eliminating the need for an external resistance and then reducing the size of the timepiece. CONSTITUTION:An oscillating circuit, frequency dividing circuit, pulse-width synthesizing circuit, rotation detecting circuit, detecting resistances, reference voltage generating circuit, step motor, and small-sized batteries as power source are provided, and the rotation detecting decides on the rotation of the rotor of the step motor on the basis of whether a voltage developed across the detecting resistances by a detecting current flowing through the coil 32 of the step motor is large or not. Plural valves of said detecting resistances of the analog electronic timepiece are provided and are set selectively according to resistance set sections. For example, plural detecting resistance elements 41-48 in an IC are selected by transmission gates 41-48. |
