PURPOSE:To easily and simply perform rearranging operation, by providing rails to the place below a material to be rolled, and rearranging upper and lower work rolls by using said rails in rearranging said work rolls of a mill in a state of the presence of the material to be rolled. CONSTITUTION:In a rolling mill, when upper and lower work rolls 9 and 10 are rearranged in a state of the presence of a material l to be rolled, chocks 15 and 16 of the lower work roll 10 are mounted on rails 12 placed in the mill by using wheels 17 and 18. In this case, chocks 19 and 20 of the upper work roll 9 are previously connected and fixed to the chocks 15 and 16 of the lower work roll 10 respectively by a connecting device having connecting rods 30. A roll rearranging truck 8, on which the lower work roll 10 and the rails 12 are mounted, is transferred toward the mill to align guiding rails 36 and the rails 12 on the same straight line in series, thereby setting the upper and lower work rolls 9 and 10 by transferring the rolls 9 and 10 to the inside of the mill so as to fitly inserting the material 1. |
