This invention relates to aqueous adhesive solutions. More particularly, this invention relates to an aqueous adhesive composition for mechanical labeling based upon starch derivatives and having a content of flow-regulating additives and, optionally, other customary additives, which comprises: (a) at least one hydroxyalkyl ether of oxidized starch with a mean degree of substitution (MS) of </=0.2, together with (b) at least one polymer dissolved in the aqueous phase, the polymer being selected from the group consisting of water-soluble cellulose derivatives, water-soluble synthetic polymers, casein, and water-soluble starch derivatives different from component (a). |
