PURPOSE:To obtain an excellently copied picture while preventing a rise in the temperature of an image carrier by forming a cylindrical image carrier of an endless belt with a 0.01-2mm. thickness manufactured by electroforming, and making >=1 opening parts in the flange of a cylindrical body for air cooling. CONSTITUTION:An endless belt of Al with a 1mm. thickness manufactured by electroforming is used to form a cylindrical base body. The base body 1 is set on a supporting shaft 3 with a flange 2. On the cylindrical base body 1, a photoconductive layer 4 of SeTe is formed to obtain a drumlike image carrier. In this case, >=1 opening part 21 for ventilation is formed in the flange 2. The opening rate of this flange 2 is >=30%. Then, air is introduced into the base body 1 through rotation for air cooling, and thus a rise of the temperature of the SeTe layer is prevented to obtain an excellently copied picture. |
