发明名称 MEASURING INSTRUMENT FOR BURNOUT AMOUNT OF REFRACTORY IN MOLTEN METAL CONTAINER
摘要 PURPOSE:To measure and monitor the burnout amount of the refractory of a molten metal container easily with high precision by embedding and incuctor in the refractory in its thickness direction, and measuring its self-inductance. CONSTITUTION:In a furnace-bottom refractory 2 lined at the inside of the furnace-bottom iron shell 1 of a converter, an insulating pipe 3 made of ceramics, etc., is embedded in the thickness direction of the refractory, and a solenoid coil 4 is arranged therein and fixed by a packing material 5. A wire electrode 7, on the other hand, is embedded near the coil 4. Both tips of coil 4 and electrode are brought into contact with molten metal 6 and the other-side ends are connected to a self-inductance measuring instrument, thus forming an electric circuit which uses the molten metal as part of the circuit. When the refractory near the embedding position of the coil is burnt out, the coil 4 decreases in length as a result, thereby decreasing the self-inductance.
