PURPOSE:To decrease significantly the frequency of similarity calculation by finding similarities between an unknown pattern signal and a standard pattern signal with a shift in relative position at the same time. CONSTITUTION:A host microcomputer 100 has a main memory 110 and transfers a possible character number table in the main memory 110 and a segmented unknown binary pattern to the memory 410 of a recognition processor 400. The recognition processor 400 finds similarities between respective standard patterns read out in the memory 410 and the unknow binary pattern in the memory 410 while correcting a position shift by using an in-pattern integrating device 500, and returns the recognition results to the main memory 100. The host microcomputer 100 makes a final discrimination by using the recognition results. The integrating device 500 find similarities between the standard patterns and unknown binary pattern with a shift in relative positions at the same time, and integrates them. |
