NECLEAR REACTOR INTERNALS AND CONTROL ROD HANDLING DEVICE

摘要

Nuclear reactor plant has a vertically movable crane(52) over the core vessel, & appts. for removing & reinserting the upper guide structure(36) & control rods(30) from the opened vessel, including a rigid vertical frame(56) for placement on the structure. A platform is vertically movable in thr frame to engage and lift simultaneously all rod drive shafts(32), with a mechanical interface between platform & frame so that continuation of lifting tranafers lift force to the frame so that the structure is lifted out of the vessel. Automatic stops lock platform & rods at maximum elevation to prevent accidental dropping of rods during transfer of structure & rods to a temporary storage area.
