PURPOSE:To obtain a positive electrode for a battery having high ionic conductivity and easy workability by mixing an organic high polymer compound having a specified dielectric constant and a positive active mass and a conductive mass to an electrolyte solution, and removing a solvent, and compressing the mixture. CONSTITUTION:An electrolyte comprising metallic ions of groups 1 and 2 of the periodic table of the elements and an organic high polymer compound such as polyvinyliodene chloride having a dielectric constant of 4 and more are dissolved in an organic solvent. This solution and a positive active mass and a specified amount of conductive mass are mixed and kneaded to make a paste. A part of the organic solvent is vaporized to solidify the mixture, then this solidified mixture is ground to make powder. This mixed powder is compressed in a form of a positive electrode. By this process, since easy workability and mechanical property such as good binding action are given, the positive electrode for a battery containing a solid compound of high ionic conductivity can be obtained. |
