PURPOSE:To prevent troubles such as overheating of food resulting in scorching or burning when failure of a sensor used for automatic cooking takes place by a construction wherein the time limit for high frequency output can be set according to the cooking method and the kind of food. CONSTITUTION:When a food 2 is placed in a heating chamber 3 and a cooking selection key 7 corresponding to the cooking menu and a cooking start key 8 are depressed, a high frequency generating means 10 is actuated to heat the food 2 by induction. During the heating, the output of a humidity sensor 13 is input to a microcomputer 14, and when it is judged that vapor comes out from the food 2, the contact of a high voltage lead switch 16 is closed through a drive means 15 to interrupt the operation of the high frequency generating means 10. In this case, the time limit for high frequency output is set individually according to the cooking method and the kind of food. In brief, the time limit is set at 10min for reheating and cooking of living things and 32 minutes for boiled foods. This arrangement prevents the heating apparatus from being damaged irrespective of failure of the sensor 13. |
