PURPOSE:To obtain a high-density good toner image without fog, by arranging the first and the second condutive members having internally magntic field generating means so that they face the surface of an image carrier and developing a latent image through the first cnductive member, to which an AC voltage is applied, and the grounded second conductive member. CONSTITUTION:Nonmagnetic conductive cylindrical sleeves 41 and 42 are provided as the first and the second conductive materals facing an image carrier 1. Since a magnetic toner 9 has >=10<14>AOMEGA.cm volume resistance, the sleeve 41 is brought into contact with a voltage source 48 electrically to load the sleeve 41 with an AC bias 48 for the purpose of sticking the toner to a latent image sufficiently to obtain a high-density developed toner image. A development gap D' is set to the same length as a doctor gap (d') approximately, and the sleeve 42 is rotated in the direction of an arrow Z to eliminate the fog generated by the development of the sleeve 41. This sleeve 42 is grounded. |
