PURPOSE:To obtain an electrostatic recording material high in abrasion resistance and durability, by composing the surface of the recording material with a hard ceramic layer high in resistivity. CONSTITUTION:A 0.1-100mum thick dielectric layer 12a made of a >=10<4>OMEGAcm volume resistivity ceramic material is formed on a conductive elastic support 11a. To give 1-100 depth roughness to this layer 12a, its surface is treated by the photoetching, sand blast, or knurling method, and on this layer a thin film dielectric layer is formed by the plating, vacuum vapor deposition, or sputtering method, or the like. The elastic support 11a is obtained by dispersing a conductive material, e.g., carbon into polyurethane rubber, silicone rubber, or the like. For the ceramic material used for the dielectric layer, TnO2, BeO, Al2O3, ZrO2, SiO2, TiO2, BN, SrZrO2 are used in a single or combined form. |
