PURPOSE:To provide the upper part of a cylinder liner with hardness and the middle part thereof with hardness and the property for formation of oil film by molding the cylinder liner from ferrous sintered alloy at a concentration ratio that the high pressure applied part of the cylinder may have a high concentration and the low pressure applied part have a low concentration. CONSTITUTION:A cylinder liner 1 is fit inside a cylinder block 2 and fixed at the uppermost flanged part 11 thereof. The liner is shaped by compressing and molding materail mixed powders of iron 2%, copper 1.2%, graphite 1% and zinc stearine acid, and then sintering them. Concentration ratio of the sintering is distributed as 90% or more of a high pressure part which makes no contact with a piston ring 80-90% of a part which makes contact therewith and 75- 85% of a low pressure part which makes no contact therewith, providing hardness, both of hardness and susceptibility to formation of oil film and oil containing property for the upper, the middle and the lower part, respectively. |
