The endplate is intended to position the rotor within the stator. Each plate comprises a circular disc with three tabs (16) standing up at right angles to the surface of this circular disc. The three tabs are intended to be fastened directly on to the side walls of the stator. The plates are formed from sheets of material which are equilateral triangles in shape. In the centre of the disc there is a projecting region (6) which is shaped to hold a motor bearing (11), with a hole (10) through the centre of this region for the shaft. Projecting ribs (8) on the plate give it rigidity. There are holes in the disc for attachment to the frame of the motor, and in the tabs (17) for attachment to the stator.
