<p>A multi-blade wheel is placed facing the fluid stream. The angle of incidence of the blades relative to the axis of rotation of the wheel is balanced between the fluid flow force and a spring which acts against the fluid force. The energy collector is coupled to a multi-bladed wheel which acts as a motor to direct fluid through ducting giving a jet of fluid in any required direction. This jet of fluid can be used for auxiliary propulsion. To reduce the overall dimensions of the unit the captor and motor can be assembled concentrically. The angle of incidence is pref. maintained at 23 degrees w.r.t. the resultant direction of the wind. Typically, the blade area is 10 square metres.</p> |
