PURPOSE:To prevent positional staggering from occurring even when ambient temperature is changed, by a method wherein the temperature of a scanning driver or the ambient temperature is detected, a driving speed of a pulse motor is set in accordance with the temperature detected, and the torque generated by the motor is changed in accordance with changes in the ambient temperature. CONSTITUTION:A one-chip microcomputer 4 for controlling the entire part of a printer consists of a central controller CPU, a read-only memory ROM, a read- and-write memory RAM and an I/O port (d). One end of each heating element segment provided in a thermal head 5 scan-driven by a motor 1 is commonly connected to a power source, the other end is connected to a thermal head driver TDR, and an input terminal of the driver TDR is connected to an output terminal of the I/O port (d) of the microcomputer 4. The microcomputer 4 impresses a stepping pulse signal (c), a direction command signal (a) and a resetting signal (b) on a phase excitation distributing circuit 3 in accordance with printing information, printing commands (e) and the like. |
