<p>When a transmitter is required to send an auxiliary message the principal message is suspended and a service code is transmitted. This is followed by an octet defining the address and the length of the auxiliary message, if these are required, otherwise only the auxiliary message octets are transmitted. The receiver positions the start of the auxiliary message by detection of the service code. The receiver enables a register to count the auxiliary octets and to locate the address and length of message octets. These are inspected to locate the nucleus of the code and to check that the correct number have been received. When all octets have been received access to the register is disabled and the auxiliary message is routed to the user system.</p> |
