PURPOSE:To give uniform and sufficient characteristics by only a preforming step and to almost eliminate the need for correcting work, by specifying the ratio of the length of a blank wire to the cord twisting pitch length between three adjoining pins arranged on a straight line. CONSTITUTION:Preforming is performed by passing each blank wire 1 or a strand that constitutes a stranded wire through three pins 6, 7, 8 arranged lengthwise on a straight line, and spiral working and twisting it. The length of the wire 1 between adjoining pins is set to integer times as long as the cord twisting pitch length between an inlet side pin 6 and a center pin 7, and to semiinteger times between the center pin 7 and an outlet side pin 8, respectively. Consequently, above-mentioned characteristics are given, and rotation of the cord is made to zero. Irregular twisting is eliminated, and a correcting stage becomes almost unnecessary, surface flaws of the wire can be made very little. |
