CASTING METHOD FOR HIGH-CHROMIUM CAST IRON PRODUCT

PURPOSE:To improve abrasion resistance by charging the melt of the high- chromium cast iron heated to temp. higher by a specific temp. than the m.p. into molds heated to temp. higher by a specific temp. CONSTITUTION:Melt of high-chromium cast iron is heated to melt at temp. higher by >=200 deg.C than the m.p. The molten iron is poured into molds heated to >=700 deg.C. Then the formation of fringed carbide is suppressed and abrasion resistance is remarkedly improved. This high-chromium cast iron product is suited particularly for use as slideways of sliding parts for which abrasion resistance is particularly required.
