The synthesis of hydrocarbons from H2 and CO, and partic. 2-10C olefins is carried out at a temp. 100-500 degrees C and press. of 100-105 kPa by passing H2 and CO at a ratio of 0.1-10 and velocity up to 50,000 v/v/h over a catalyst comprising a carrier of oxide contg. Ti onto which has been applied Ru,Ni or Rh of defined particle size and surface area. The catalyst is composed of a Ti contg. oxide carrier e.g. TiO2, ZrTiO4, TiO2-C, TiO2-Al2O3, TiO2-SiO2, alkaline earth titanate, alkali titanate, and/or rare earth titanate, pref. TiO2, with a surface area of 1-200 m2g-1 (25-100 m2g-1), and to which has been applied Ru in an amt. of 0.01-15 wt.% of particle size 1-20 m (5 nm). The method is selective with a higher yield, and synthesis can be carried out at lower temp. than with conventional methods. |
