<p>The starter is for a small ic engine, as used in a moped having a coil- or spiral accumulator spring. One end of the spring (20) is coupled to a winder (22), and the other to a coupling (24) transmitting the stored energy to the engine crankshaft (2). The first end can be coupled to a power take-off shaft driven by the engine via a clutch disengaging automatically when the mechanism has been wound up for the necessary number of turns. The second end is fixed to a shaft coupled to the crankshaft via a freewheel, and is held by a lock released when operating the starter.</p> |
