PURPOSE:To enhance the degree of integration of charging electrodes (nozzles), by a method wherein an electric potential is imparted to ejected ink droplets at the outlet of a nozzle, and common electrodes for a ground level are provided on the forward side of the nozzle, in a charge control type multi-nozzle ink jet recorder. CONSTITUTION:A head body 11 formed of an insulating material at a head part 10 (numeral 12 denotes an ink chamber) is provided with the charging electrode 14 at a position surrounding the outlet of the nozzle 13. On the other hand, flat plate form common electrodes 20 are provided at positions in proximity to a part where an ink column 15 is cut up into the ink droplets 16, and are grounded. A potential is impressed on the electrode 14 so that the ink droplets 16 are selectively charged or non-charged. Of the ink droplets 16 flying rightwards in the figure, the non-charged ones are trapped and recovered by a gutter 40, while charged ones are deflected by deflecting electrodes 30 and reach a recording paper 50, resulting in desired printing. |
