An axial mounting, affected by axial and radial play, for cutter picks (1) in a holding body (2), in which axial mounting a split spring sleeve (4) is used which in the compressed state can be inserted with the cylindrical shank part (1b) of the pick into the bore (2a) of the holding body (2) and is secured there axially under its expanding action. The axial position is secured under axial play (SA) by an annular collar (1c), turned on the pick shank, coming to a stop on the spring sleeve (4), which can easily be pushed out of its bore by an axial release force for changing the pick. <IMAGE>
