The invention comprises a safety-belt system in which the belt band carries a damage indicator. The damage indicator consists of a plate-shaped component and of a middle web. The plate-shaped component has an aperture of the width of the belt band, and this is divided by the middle web extending transversely relative to the belt band. The belt band is introduced in the form of a loop into the aperture and is supported on the middle web. In the event of an accident, the damage indicator is deformed by the inserted belt and gives an indication that the belt system has to be exchanged. <IMAGE>
