PURPOSE:To feed an original accurately independently of an original reference position, by performing such two-mode operation that the leading edge and the trailing edge of the original are detected to control the feed of the original to a prescribed position. CONSTITUTION:An original 2 is placed on an entrance tray 1 and is inserted between a pickup roller 3 and a paper feed roller 4. After a certain time, power is supplied to a plunger 30, and the original is caught between rollers 3 and 4, and a motor 43 is rotated to rotate a driving roller 13. After a certain time, a feed roller 5 and the roller 3 are rotated to carry the original 2; and when the original passes between the roller 5 and a paper feed roller 6, the leading edge of the original 2 is detected by end part detecting sensors 12-1 and 12-2, and a photo interrupter 39 starts counting the number of clocks of a disc 38. When the trailing edge of the original 2 is detected by sensors 12, the rotation of rollers 5 and 3 is stopped. When a certain number of clocks is counted, power supply is stopped to stop the original 2 in a prescribed position. Thus, the original is accurately fed independently of an original reference position. |
