This unit contains several handpieces (31...n), which can be taken from storage devices (11...n) and which are supplied via control members (51...n) with resources, the values of which can be changed, electronic memories (81...n) for storing the operating values, an address coder (7) for selecting the memories as a function of the removal of the handpieces, and a control unit (12) for the read-out cycle of the memories (8). So that the previous operating values can be recovered without having to store the handpieces in and remove them again from the associated storing devices when the operating values have been manually changed, it is proposed to connect to the address coder (7) a logic circuit (11) with a manual key (18), the operation of which activates the read-out cycle of the memories (8). <IMAGE>
