Novel halogen-substituted N-(4-trifluoromethylpyridyl-2-oxy)phenyl- N'-benzoylureas of the formula <IMAGE> in which R1 and R2 independently of one another denote hydrogen, methyl, fluorine, chlorine or bromine; R3 denotes methyl, fluorine, chlorine or bromine; R4 denotes hydrogen, fluorine, chlorine, bromine, methoxy or ethoxy; X denotes oxygen or sulphur; and n denotes a number 0, 1 or 2, a process for the preparation of this compound and compositions containing it for use in pest control, in particular for the control of insects which attack plants and animals. The novel compounds are particularly active against larval stages of plant-eating and plant-injurious insects.
