PURPOSE:To form easily a composite electrostatic latent image consisting of negative and positive images, by sticking a powdery material to a negative image formed on a photosensitive layer to cover this negative image and removing the powdery material after forming a positive image on the photosensitive layer. CONSTITUTION:After a photosensitive layer 3 of a photosensitive drum 1 rotating in the direction of an arrow is overall charged by a discharger 4, a negative image due to a laser beam is irradiated by a negative image irradiating device 8, and the formed negative latent image is developed by the first developing device 11, and a powdery material is stuck to the negative latent image. Next, after a positive image of an original 19 is irradiated by a positive image irradiating device 16 to form a positive latent image (the potential is not changed in the first formed negative latent image because this latent image is covered with the powdery material), the powdery material is removed temporarily by the first cleaning device 25, and a composite electrostatic latent image consisting of negative and positive images is formed on the photosensitive layer 3. Next, the latent image is developed by the second developing device 28 and an obtained visible image is transferred to a form 35 by conventional methods. |
