The invention relates to a core for the production of passages in castings, the core having a flexible centre and a jacket surrounding the latter. The object to be achieved is to improve such a core such that, in addition to simpler production of the core itself, it is possible to obtain a core with sharp curves which is easy to remove from the casting and produces smooth passage walls. To achieve this, the jacket surrounding the flexible core centre (2) is a sand layer (3) surrounded by a hose (1). <IMAGE>
